Another beautiful short made with the fine & talented team at Evil Eye Pictures, we created a teaser cinematic for the Free-To-Play release of Rocket League on the Epic Games Store. We worked with director Saschka Unseld to design a fast-paced and action-packed sequence telling the story of an underdog Rocket League player who slowly makes his way from zero to hero. My role was focused on designing the looks for the cars, creating all the original textures for the assets throughout the piece, and VFX design in UE4. Like the previous films done with Evil Eye, the entire animation was rendered in UE4.

DESIGN & TEXTURING
My main role was designing the “skins” for each of the cars, coming up with a variety of looks to represent each car’s personality as characters in the story. While most work was done in Substance Painter, some of the patterns were created in Photoshop using the 3D workflow. In addition to coming up with original designs for the cinematic, a lot of work was focused on re-creating photo-real versions of the in game cars + assets. The following photos were captured in-engine in UE4.
